HMS Series

With ballscrews >2 m in length, critical speed becomes a key factor to consider. The HIWIN HMS system is a viable alternative to conventional rotating nut systems in terms of efficiency and cost reduction.

• HIWIN torque motor assembled in a single housing with provision for ballscrew nut assembly
• Equipped with an integrated angular contact bearing unit
• Integrated incremental direct encoder
• No external cooling required (TMR series torque motors)
• Prepared to accommodate DIN ballscrew nuts up to diameter 32 mm
• Prepared to integrate diagnostic sensors on the ballscrew nut

The servo actuator with integrated torque motor rotates the ballscrew nut and thus induces translational motion of the axis, while keeping the screw shaft stationary.

It also guarantees direct motion transmission without the use of intermediate devices (pulleys, belts, external servo motors or supports).

This system allows several HMS to be mounted on the same ballscrew shaft, thus moving several axes independent of each other.
